PRAKTIK KOMUNIKASI DAN REPRESENTASI DALAM PERSPEKTIF JURNALISME INKLUSIF SLB DI KENDARI

Jurnalisme inklusif menekankan keadilan, nondiskriminasi, dan penghormatan terhadap keberagaman, terutama dalam merepresentasikan kelompok rentan seperti penyandang disabilitas. Penelitian ini menyoroti praktik komunikasi jurnalis dan representasi media terhadap Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) di Kota Kendari, dengan latar belakang minimnya liputan mendalam serta kecenderungan narasi berbasis charity model yang menampilkan penyandang disabilitas sebagai objek belas kasih, berbeda dengan social model yang menekankan hambatan sosial dan lingkungan yang membatasi partisipasi. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, melibatkan sembilan SLB sebagai konteks sosial pemberitaan, menganalisis 36 konten berita dari 26 media lokal, serta mewawancarai jurnalis, guru, siswa, dan pemangku kepentingan terkait, termasuk Dinas Pendidikan Kota Kendari, UPTD Siswa Berkebutuhan Khusus, dan Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia Daerah Sulawesi Tenggara. Data dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman dengan berlandaskan kerangka teoritik representasi, agenda setting, dan framing. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media lokal di Kendari membentuk tiga pola framing utama: inklusif, karitatif, dan pasif. Temuan ini menjadi dasar perumusan model konseptual praktik jurnalisme inklusif yang adaptif terhadap realitas pendidikan berkebutuhan khusus, sekaligus memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi media lokal untuk memperkuat representasi penyandang disabilitas, meningkatkan kesadaran publik, dan mendorong terciptanya masyarakat yang lebih inklusif dan setara.
